NEXT 744-PAG
CO₂ PAG Refrigeration Lubricant (Series 746)
A polyalkylene glycol (PAG) refrigeration lubricant for CO₂ (R-744) transcritical, subcritical, and cascade systems, approved by Dorin. Its anti-wear and anti-corrosion additive package maintains film strength under the high pressures of CO₂ refrigeration service, while viscosity indices up to 204 ensure lubrication in low-temperature stages.
Product Overview
NEXT 744-PAG is a polyalkylene glycol (PAG) refrigeration lubricant specifically formulated for CO₂ (R-744) refrigeration systems, including transcritical, subcritical, and cascade configurations. CO₂ refrigeration operates at significantly higher pressures than other common refrigerants, with transcritical service exceeding the 73.8 bar (1,070 psi) critical point. The anti-wear and anti-corrosion additive package ensures consistent film strength and deposit control throughout the operating cycle.
This formulation delivers superior lubricity, excellent carbon and varnish control, and robust cold-temperature performance—crucial for CO₂ cascade systems where lubricant circulation extends to the low-temperature stage. Viscosity indices ranging from 172 to 204 across the VG 46 to VG 150 range maintain the lubricating film from the cold stage to compression temperature.

Key Features
Formulated for CO₂ (R-744)
Serves transcritical, subcritical, and cascade CO₂ refrigeration systems
Film Strength at CO₂ Pressures
The anti-wear package maintains the lubricating film above the 73.8 bar (1,070 psi) critical pressure of transcritical service.
Corrosion Protection
Protects compressor components in demanding CO₂ operating environments.
Carbon & Varnish Control
Keeps internal surfaces clean, extending lubricant life
Low-Temperature Performance
A viscosity index up to 204 carries lubrication to the cold stage of cascade CO₂ systems
